CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A local civic club, Clarksville Civitan, is now a member of the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce after a ribbon cutting on Wednesday. Civitan President-Elect Derek Eurales Jr. said the organization is getting ready to celebrate 100 years.
“The Clarksville Civitan Club started in 1922 as a club with the intention of helping people who have needs. At the core of it we help anyone who has needs, regardless of their background,” Eurales said. He added that their focus is helping those with intellectual and development disabilities.
Eurales invited those who would like to learn more about the Clarksville Civitan Club to join them on Wednesdays at noon in the Hope Building of First Baptist Church, 499 Commerce St., in downtown Clarksville. If you would like to join the Civitans for lunch, plan on arriving around 11:30.
You can also stop by their office Tuesday-Thursday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at 223 N. Second St., Suite 1, or call 931-206-5881.
