CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville City Council met in their Executive Session Thursday and a change to the zoning ordinance and a performance bond for the City Finance Director were the main topics of discussion.
Changes to city zoning would create the new R-6 Single Family District zoning classification which would allow an increase in the number of single-family home development that can be put on a section of land.
If the area wide rezoning which is being proposed by the Regional Planning Commission is approved by the council up to 16 single family homes could be built on one acre with a minimum lot size of 2,500 square feet.
The council also discussed a proposed city code amendment for a performance bond for the Commissioner of Finance and Revenue, Lauri Matta. The amendment the council is considering would drop from its current $1 million to $100,000 for bonding an insurance for the director.
The Clarksville City Council will meet in their regular session on Thursday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers at 106 Public Square.
