CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Christian School junior forward Lauren Hassell has won the TSIAA Ms. Basketball award. The award is given to the best basketball player and community leader in the entire TSIAA. Hassell is one of the top 10 recruits nationwide in the class of 2027.
“This award means everything,” said Hassell. “I knew I couldn’t get it without my teammates and coaches pushing me to be the best I could be and having amazing teammates. So, beyond grateful for our conference for thinking enough of me to present this award, and our school and community for all of their support and love.”
Hassell put up video game numbers this season, scoring 25.5 points a contest while grabbing 11.2 boards, and collecting 2.6 steals and 1.2 blocks a game. She led the Centurions to their fifth straight district and state title this year, despite being injured for part of their run and serving as a vocal leader from the sidelines.
“It means a lot for her to win this award,” said Centurions head coach Trenton Hassell. “It shows the work she puts in and the respect she’s earned playing this game. Also shows the person she is on and off the court, which is the most important part of the award. I’m extremely proud of her!”
