CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Students at Clarksville Christian School recently put their faith into action by collecting almost 4,000 non-perishable food items to benefit The Well, an outreach of the Church of Christ at Trenton Crossing.
The project, sponsored by the Student Government Association, began with a competition between each grade level to design and decorate a box for the food collection. The competition escalated when it was announced that the class who collected the most food items would win a special trip. The freshman class collected 789 items, and earned a trip to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and lunch at Opry Mills.
Diana McArthur, volunteer at The Well, states in a note sent to SGA, staff, and students, “You glorify God and demonstrate a servant’s heart. We thank you more than we can say!”
The staff and volunteers at The Well will oversee the distribution of food to families in need over the Christmas season.
