CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Tennessee State Independent Athletic Association announced on Monday that Kinsey Blount, a junior volleyball player at Clarksville Christian, has won the TSIAA Miss Volleyball Award for the 2025-26 season.
The award is given to the best volleyball player/ community leader in the state, and Blount is the first student-athlete from Clarksville Christian School to receive such an award.
“I’m very honored to even be considered for the award,” Blount said. “I couldn’t have done it without my amazing teammates; they’re the best team I’ve ever played with. I also couldn’t have done it without Coach Martha (Sheffield) and the confidence she has given me. This season was so special, and I was so glad to be a part of it.”

Blount put up ridiculous numbers this season, amassing 450 assists, 206 digs, 156 kills, 77 aces, and 18 blocks. She led the Centurions to not only their first state tournament appearance but also their first win, defeating the Zion Christian Academy Eagles in the state quarterfinals.
Winning these awards must run in the family as well, as her father, Ryan Blount, won the 1995 class 3A Mr. Football Lineman of the Year Award at Roane County High School.

“I’m incredibly proud of Kinsey,” said Centurions head coach Martha Sheffield. “It’s pretty cool, because she has checked all the boxes. Not only her athletic ability, but also her community service, leadership, and who she is as a person. I’m incredibly blessed to have her in our program, but I’m sad that I only have one more year with her.”
The award not only honors the best volleyball athlete in the state, but also someone who is a leader in the community, and a star in the classroom. Blount has accumulated numerous community service hours, in addition to being a member of several service organizations, including the National Honor Society and Youth Leadership Clarksville.
“The beauty of it is it’s not just because she’s a great volleyball player,” said Clarksville Christian Athletic Director Jason Shelton. “Kinsey is a great example of an all-around great person. It’s really neat to have our school represented by someone like that on a statewide level.”
