CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Nashville Christian Eagles traveled to Clarksville Christian School for a Friday night matchup with the Centurions. Heavy ball pressure caused fits for the Eagles offense, and the Centurions took advantage in transition, pulling ahead early and comfortably winning a 69-36 decision.
The Centurions trailed 4-2 a minute into the contest, but that was the only time they trailed all night, going on a 17-0 run to end the first quarter, including six points from forward Marley Spiers, who ended the night with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks.

The Centurions weren’t full-court pressing, but as soon as the ball was past the opposite three-point line, Nashville Christian immediately had a defender in their face. Clarksville Christian also continued their scoring spree in the second quarter, going into the halftime leading 39-15. Forward Lauren Hassell had 17 points at the halftime break.
“Nashville Christian is a well-coached, feisty, disciplined team, so we came in mentally prepared to play smart defense,” Centurions head coach Trenton Hassell told Clarksville Now. “Our pressure got to them early; it helped us get a lead, and while we had some lapses and they exposed us a bit, we sustained it.”
The second half saw Nashville Christian make a comeback attempt at the start of the third quarter, with two buckets each from guards Addison Humes and Hillary Harris giving the Eagles life.
However, Kaydence Kindle had other ideas for CCS, collecting three steals in the quarter to snuff out any hope their opponents had of a comeback. Kindle ended the night with 13 points, while Hasell continued to pour it on, totaling 26 points on the night with 10 rebounds, reaching another double-double, which has become routine for her.
The Centurions cruised late to a 33-point victory, with Coach Hasell emptying his bench for the last few minutes. Clarksville Christian has a challenging winter schedule upcoming and will head back to the drawing board with challenging matchups on deck.
“It was a good win for our girls tonight,” said Hassell. “We had stages where we were really good, but we had moments where we weren’t, but we needed to see that. We have five or six tough games coming up, so we have to shore up our weaknesses that got exposed at times tonight.”
