CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Christian School athletic director Jason Shelton has announced the hiring of J.R. Montjoy as their next head baseball coach. Montjoy has spent the last four years as an assistant for Rossview High.

“I’m excited and look forward to the challenge set forth by leading these young men not just to success on the field but off it as well,” said Montjoy. “If the boys buy into working toward a common goal and becoming better Godly men, then we will ultimately reach our goals on the field.

Montjoy helped the Hawks to back-to-back 35-win seasons the last two years. Before his time at Rossview, he spent seven years at Northwest, sending seven players to college, and setting the Vikings school record for wins (25). Montjoy’s playing career started at Northeast, where he was an all-state selection. In college, Montjoy made stops at Murray State and Jackson State Community College, where he was all-conference. Now, Montjoy looks to lead the Centurions to success on the diamond.

“We are excited to welcome J.R. Montjoy to the CCS Family,” said Shelton. “He has worked with so many young men in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area, using the game of baseball to teach life lessons and impact their lives on and off the field. His faith walk is tied into his coaching impact on these young men, and we are proud to have him do the same here at Clarksville Christian.”
