CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – During the month of December there’s been a number of student-athletes that signed their national letters of intent to play their respective sport at the collegiate level.

This included Clarksville High holding their first signing ceremony of the 2022-23 school year on Dec. 8. The event celebrated four CHS student-athletes who decided where they’ll be taking their talents next year. Three out of the four students are a part of the Wildcat baseball program.

Carson Sanders, Chipper Harris and Gavin Dufault all signed on to play baseball at the next level.

Sanders and Harris signed on to play together at Volunteer State in Gallatin. Dufault will be taking his talents to Maryville College in Maryville.

Clarksville High volleyball player Krista Haake also shared the spotlight alongside her fellow classmates during the signing ceremony.

In front of friends, staff and family, Haake signed her national letter of intent to play for the University of New Hampshire. New Hampshire’s volleyball program is coming off a season where they went 19-10 on the year.

Clarksville Academy wide receiver commits to SEMO

Clarksville Academy star wide receiver Jacques Wyatt III was another Clarksville-area recruit who announced his college decision this month.

Wyatt produced at a high level during the 2022-23 high school football season. The 6-foot-5 wideout finished the year with 61 receptions for 929 yards, 11 touchdowns and averaged 15.2 yards per catch. This included breaking the all-time total of receiving yards in a season.

His production and size caught the attention of multiple Division-I football programs, which included Southeast Missouri out of the FCS. Wyatt announced on Dec. 6 that he had committed to play for the Red Hawks and Head Coach Tom Matukewicz.
