CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Rotary Club/Kiwanis Football Season Kickoff was held Wednesday, August 17 at First Baptist Church.

The event celebrated the official beginning of football season for teams across Montgomery County. The majority of Clarksville-area coaches attended the luncheon and spoke about their teams’ heading into the new year.

A number of new head coaches were introduced. This list includes the following; Jarhett Snead, Corey Wright, Claude Townsend and Robert Gallowitz. The coaches spoke on the foundation they have began to build within their programs at each school.

This included the steps they will take to build a winning culture such as recruitment of student athletes, teaching their players discipline and accountability as a team.

A few familiar faces returned to the event as well. Below showcases all the coaches in attendance.

“This event is a great opportunity,” said District Program and Activities Manager John Miller. “It allows coaches to share what’s going on within each program and get the message out about what kind of kids they are teaching and coaching. Every team is unique, and every coach is unique. I always enjoy listening to the coaches at this event, and I enjoy watching them live at practice and games.”

“Also, I believe each school is special and unique in their own way in our community. Possibly more so than other counties our size in Middle Tennessee, because the diverse and distinct population.”
