Clarksville Academy welcomed around 560 Pre-K through 12th grade students back to school Wednesday with more students anticipated.
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Academy welcomed students back for 2023-24 with a celebration on Wednesday.
Head of School Jennifer Hinote said they were starting off the new school year with 560 students, enrolled in Pre-K through 12th grade with more anticipated as the year begins. “I’m incredibly excited about the new students who are going to join those who are returning. It seems like summer went by in the blink of an eye. We’re also excited because we have construction of a new building planned,” Hinote said.

Hinote said demolition will begin any day now on two of the campus buildings along North Anderson Street. It will make way for a two-story 16-classroom building that will house many of the upper classes, especially in the sciences and fine arts.

A long-standing tradition took place Wednesday with the Boo-Hoo Breakfast. The breakfast is for parents of kindergarten and senior students whose children are just starting Clarksville Academy or finishing their last year.
Sally Allen, spokeswoman for the academy, said it’s a 20-year tradition for parents to commiserate with each other and kick off the new school year.
