CLARKSVILLE, TN – Ashton Ozolins, a 2023 graduate of Clarksville Academy, qualified to fish in the Strike King Bassmaster HS National Championship. This year’s event will take place in South Carolina from July 27 to 29 at Lake Hartwell.

Anglers from 39 states and Ontario, Canada, qualified to compete as part of the 315-boat field which features 48 high school teams.

Ashton and his teammate, Luke Malik from Beech High School competed on the TN Bass Nation trail this season and qualified through their standings and placements in the HS Bassmaster Trail Series. Clint Nowlin, from Elkton KY is their coach. They competed this past weekend at Douglas Lake in the TN State Championship and ended in the top 5% of the state overall for the season. Ashton is a multi-sport and well diversified athlete that has represented Clarksville Academy well both athletically and academically. He played football, wrestled, fished competitively and was one of the first male cheerleaders their school had. He recently signed with the University of Nebraska to cheer in the Fall.
