CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Academy senior forward Anna Hellums has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following her play over the first four games of the season, in which the Cougars won each contest to move to 4-0.

Since it’s the beginning of a new season, Hellums earned Player of the Week honors for what she’s accomplished over the past two weeks.

The senior forward has been effective and efficient in every facet of the game up to this point in the 2024-25 season. She is currently averaging 14.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.3 blocks per game. The senior has also shot 54% from the field, which includes hitting 50% of her three-point attempts.

“Anna is our only returning senior with varsity experience,” said Clarksville Academy head coach Charles Clark. “She had a big role last year so coming into the season I really haven’t been surprised at the fast start that she’s had. She’s done a good job with setting the tone on and off the court for how we want to do things in our program. She had a big week on both sides of the basketball which is always great.”

Hellums has led her Cougar squad to what is now a 5-0 start after their victory over cross-town foe Kenwood High on Tuesday, Dec. 3. She looks to continue this success throughout her season and potentially into the collegiate ranks, as she has received several college offers.

“I’m so grateful to receive this award,” Hellums told Clarksville Now. “Ultimately, it wouldn’t have been possible without my teammates and coaches’ support and hard work. From the summer, preseason, and up to this point, everyone has been putting in the work for the team. I can’t wait to see where we go the rest of this season.”
