CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) – Clarksville Academy Football will host a free middle school skills camp this Tuesday, June 20 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Clarksville Academy Sports Complex on Highway 48/13.
This camp will be for rising 8th and 9th graders (2021 and 2022 athletes). New head coach JD Sellers is excited to be able to help local players learn more about the game and to help them prepare for the upcoming season.
“It will be a great opportunity for players to learn from the best and most qualified coaches in this community” Sellers said. “We have coaches who have put numerous players in college programs, and been a part of some of the best high school programs in the state of Tennessee. Players will leave this camp with a higher football IQ and with better skills.”
Sellers became the head football coach in March after Todd Hood departed for Rossview. He spent seven years as an assistant coach at Austin Peay State University and served as a recruiting coordinator for the Governors.
Players will also receive instruction from John Crosby, who served as the defensive coordinator for Nashville Christian the past 11 years where he won a state championship in 2015.
Campers should wear shorts, t-shirt, and cleats. This is a non-contact camp. There is no pre-registration required. Parents will need to fill out a waiver when they arrive. For more info, email jsellers@clarksvilleacademy.com.
