CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Academy freshman forward Camille Thomas has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following her performance in the Cougars’ games during Christmas break. Thomas averaged 12.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.6 steals, and one block over the five-game stretch, stuffing the stat sheet and leading Academy to a 4-1 record over the break.
“Winning the award feels great, like all of the hard work and dedication has finally paid off in a tremendous way,” said Thomas. “Over the holidays, I kept my skills sharp with daily practice, focusing on working on my techniques and also experimenting with new strategies to stay ahead of the game.”

Thomas had two double-doubles over the five-game stretch, an impressive stat for a freshman. She also had a 25-point outing against Houston County, her career high in a career that’s just getting started. The most important stat of all, she contributed to winning games in whatever way she could.
“Camille has started to settle in as the season has progressed,” said Cougars head coach Charles Clark. “In each practice and game, she seems to be getting more comfortable. As a freshman, she is learning to navigate the ups and downs. Over the holiday break, it just seemed to all come together for her. She is playing with a high motor right now.”
