CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Academy senior pitcher/shortstop Colt Wallace has been named Clarksville Now Player of the Week following his performance in the Cougars’ games the week of March 15-21.
Wallace went 8-12 at the plate, with 5 RBIs, two doubles, and a triple. Wallace also allowed no earned runs and had five strikeouts pitching in his one appearance on the mound during that span. The most important stat, the Cougars went 3-0 during that span.
“I worked so hard this fall and to receive this is an honor,” said Wallace. “I’m glad I can do the things that help my team win.
Wallace was a core piece of the Cougars’ state championship game run last season, pitching a complete game and earning the win in the semifinal to send them to the state title. Wallace is hoping to replicate that success along with his Cougar teammates.
Colton has been a steady force for a few years in our program,” said Cougars head coach Dustin Smith. “He has a great work ethic and always competes to give us a chance to win.”
