CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – It was a special day Monday, May 3, at the Clarksville 50+ Activity Center, with a grand reopening ribbon cutting with the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Marketing and Fundraiser Coordinator Janet Holleman said the reopening is because the center has been closed for 14 months due of COVID-19.

“We are reopening, a partial controlled reopening, to get our members back in and get them back connected with us, because they’ve missed us so much and we’re the only family a lot of them have, so they are very anxious to get back with us,” Holleman said.

Holleman invited everyone to join them but asked that people call ahead to reserve a spot in one of their classes or activities they have going on right now.

Clarksville’s 50+ Activity Center, also known as the Ajax Turner Senior Center, is at 953 Clark St. and at this time is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
