Clarence Russell Proctor, age 91 of Southside, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at his residence.
Russell entered this life on April 1, 1930 in Montgomery County to the late Robert and Henrietta Groves Proctor. He was a veteran on the United States Army and worked as a concrete finisher. Russell was a member of Grays Chapel Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandchild, Christopher Newton.
Survivors include his loving wife, Alene Devers Akin Proctor; children, Angie (Todd) Lee and Gary Proctor; children by marriage, Mary (Mike) Newton, Judy (Greg) Ussery, Debbie Duncan and April (Scott) Nelson; grandchildren, Brandon Lee, Clara Lee, Melanie Newton, Jasen Ussery, Warren Duncan and Ella Rose Nelson, five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and sister, Lois Wright.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 2 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Proctor and Rev. Ken Andrews officiating. Burial will follow at Ryes Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Monty Merrell, Jerry Devers, Jacob Akin, Jeff Akins, Warren Duncan and Jasen Ussery.
