The City of Clarksville Office of Housing and Community Development will use public surveys to make a housing and community development needs assessment, establishing goals for the upcoming 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan. The Plan, as required by law, will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The five year Consolidated Plan is designed to create a link between the identified needs of Clarksville’s low- to moderate-income and special needs populations and funding resources, including HUD’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnership (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and other public and private investments. The plan will establish objectives and strategies in three key areas: providing decent housing, providing a suitable living environment, and providing expanded economic opportunities.
An important part of preparing the needs assessment and Consolidated Plan is to gather community input about these issues. Three separate surveys are available and the Office of Housing and Community Development encourages anyone in the City of Clarksville to participate in the surveys. Your opinion on these matters is important and appreciated.
The surveys only take a few minutes to complete and can be accessed on the City of Clarksville website. The survey deadline is March 31, 2015.
