CLARKSVILLE, TN − This weekend the City of Clarksville will begin work on a new sidewalk improvement project on Ringgold Road.
This project is part of the Transportation 2020+ Plan and features 3,500 feet of new, 5-foot-wide sidewalk, complete with accessible ramps as well as curb and gutter, on the south side of Ringgold Road, according to a city news release. The work will begin at Fort Campbell Boulevard and and continue to 430 Ringgold Road.
The new sidewalk will help ensure safe and accessible connections for students going from the Whitehall subdivision to Ringgold Elementary School, the release said. To minimize disruptions to school traffic, the Street Department is doing the work directly in front of the school during the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System spring break.
Work will begin Saturday and is projected to be completed by mid-November.
