CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – City of Clarksville employees Chris Bushart and Dan Walters were recognized recently by Mayor Joe Pitts for their life-saving tactics.

On May 6 around 4 p.m., Bushart (Clarksville Parks and Recreation) and Walters (Building and Facilities Maintenance), came across a citizen on Franklin Street who was having a medical emergency. Bushart and Walters quickly rendered aid and called 911, effectively and swiftly saving the person’s life.

“Your bravery in a moment of crisis was an inspiration to all and has earned you the deepest gratitude and respect of our community,” Pitts said at the City Council meeting on May 29.

The two men were awarded the Life Saver Certificate in recognition of their courage and quick-thinking in a time of need.
