CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville City Council has approved transferring the ownership of a portion of property at the Public Safety Complex at Outlaw Field to Montgomery County for construction of an Emergency Medical Service station.
Councilperson Stacey Streetman said when the airport gave the city the tract of land in question, it had always been the intent to build an EMS station on a portion of the site. “This is essentially a cleanup to get that portion of the land under Montgomery County’s name and out of the city’s name,” Streetman said at the council’s executive session meeting.
The city owns more than 7 acres adjoining the Clarksville Regional Airport and Outlaw Field, and they are now quitclaiming .73 acres for the development of the EMS station, according to the ordinance.
As the community continues to grow, expanding EMS remains a top priority, Montgomery County Government said in a statement.
“The Montgomery County EMS team is actively planning for the development of additional stations over the next 3-4 years, including one to service the area near the regional airport. Currently, the Montgomery County engineering team and EMS team are in the early stages of assessing the best way to utilize this land for EMS purposes,” said the statement.
