CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Clarksville City Government offices will be closed Friday, Jan. 12 due to inclement weather.
City offices also will be closed Monday as scheduled to observe the national Martin Luther King Day Holiday.
City Public Safety departments will be on duty as usual and all essential City services will continue.
The Clarksville Street Department began salting city streets at about 5 a.m. Friday, as temperatures dropped amid rain and drizzle. About 7 a.m., the rain turned to freezing rain and snow.
Montgomery County Offices will also be closed Friday.
Clarksville Transit System will continue its regular route service for as long as possible, but if road conditions worsen, it will implement a “snow routes” plan, whereby buses avoid hilly areas and stay on the main roads. Director Arthur Bing Sr. said CTS will give one-hour advance notice of any changes in service during the weather event, and riders should check www.rideCTS.com or the CTS Facebook page for updates.

Clarksville Gas and Water administration and engineering offices, including the north and south customer service centers, also will be closed Friday and Monday. In the event of a gas, water or sewer emergency, customers should call, (931) 645-7400, or the emergency after-hours line, (931) 645-0116. The Utility Billing Line, (931) 645-7400, automated pay by phone; and WebConnect, www.clarksvillegw.com, online bill payment feature, will be operational.
