CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Tuesday, August 21, Clarksville Police released the image of a man suspected of credit card fraud through local media in hopes someone might recognize him. A citizen was able to point out the suspect to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputies that were refueling at the BP gas station on Riverside Drive.

The deputies notified 911 and followed the suspect until CPD Detective Beaubien, who is working the case, arrived to take over the investigation.

The suspect identified as Michael Bryant was determined to be the man who used the credit cards without the owners’ permissions. He is believed to have found the wallet outside of a business on McClure Street and used the credit cards to make purchases at a smoke shop.

Michael Bryant, 40, has been booked for two counts of identity theft with a bond of $5000.

Clarksville Police thanked the media, deputies  and the sharp eyed citizen for their help locating the suspect.
