CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Former Clarksville High standout Hunter Richardson qualified for his first PGA tour event this past Monday.

Richardson shot an 8-under 64. He is playing in Lexington, Ky in the Barbasol Championship.

OVC golf fans will remember Richardson’s name as an all-OVC performer all four years at University of Tennessee at Martin.

During his senior year at Clarksville High, Richardson qualified for the TSSAA state golf championship where he finished tied for eighth. He played in numerous tournaments around the Clarksville and Middle Tennessee area during his high school career.

Richardson also shares an Austin Peay connection with his father, Rick Richardson, having played baseball for Austin Peay State University.

Richardson finished his first round shooting 3-over par 75 with two birdies, three bogeys and one double bogey.

Richardson’s second round group includes fellow American Berry Henson and British golfer Cameron Davis and tees off at 10:10 A.M. Central Time on July 19th.
