CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville High School Class of 1965 will reconvene in Clarksville Sept. 4 and 5, 2015 for its 50 year class reunion. Members will return to Clarksville from around the country to rekindle friendships and relive old memories from their high school days a half century ago.

“We’re very excited about this milestone reunion,” says Roberta (Butler) Richardson, reunion chairperson. “We have a combination of planned activities and down time for class members to reconnect with each other. On Sept. 4 we’re having a golf scramble at Eastland Greens golf course in conjunction with a casual meet and greet event at Eastland, followed by ‘dinner on your own.’”

Richardson continues, “Saturday morning we’re conducting a food drive for Manna Café to help needy people in our community. Several of our class members will be pairing up with current seniors from Clarksville High School to collect food at area groceries. It should be an enlightening experience: teenagers and 60-somethings working together to relieve hunger in Montgomery County.”

Saturday night will see the high point of the Class of ‘65’s reunion – a dinner dance at Clarksville’s Riverview Hotel. Richardson notes, “We will have dinner, a short program with special speakers and recognitions, then an evening of dancing to music of the 60s.”

Richardson urges all members of the Clarksville High School Class of 1965 to visit the reunion web site: www.chsclass1965.com. This site includes information about all reunion functions and how to register for them. “Many class members and spouses have already signed up, and we’re hoping for a lot more,” Richardson says. “The deadline for early registration is Aug. 1. After this date the cost to register goes up $10 per person.”

“We’re anticipating a large turnout,” Richardson adds. “Our class members were close-knit, and many have kept in touch through the decades since we graduated. This reunion will give us an opportunity to renew those bonds and to keep the spirit of the Class of ’65 strong and vibrant heading into the next 50 years.”
