CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – For the 10th year in a row, David Steinquest and his talented friends will gather at Austin Peay for a relaxed evening of holiday music. This year’s event will feature ‘greatest hits’ from a decade of concerts.
“This year’s music is comprised of favorite selections from past concerts with a little new music thrown in for good measure,” said Steinquest, a professor of music at APSU.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 6, in the Mabry Concert Hall. Admission to the show is two cans of food, which will be donated to Loaves and Fishes, or $5. Cans can be brought to the music office in the Music/Mass Communications Building, room 139.
The evening will feature Steinquest’s holiday band, made up of Allison Steinquest (vocals), Paul Carol Binkley (guitar and vocals), Kevin Madill (piano), Larry Crew (bass), Sam Campbell (drums), Steinquest (percussion) and the APSU Percussion Ensemble.
The program will include standards like ‘My Favorite Things,” “It Came Upon A Midnight Clear,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “Santa Baby,” “Mr. Grinch” and more. These classics tunes will be dressed up in unusual arrangements, giving them new life.
As always, the show will have a homey atmosphere with the stage set up like a living room, complete with Christmas decorations.
Tickets go on sale Monday, November 25. This concert sells out each year, so guests are encouraged to get their seats early. Tickets can be purchased here.
