Christian County, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Christian County Health Department has reported an increase in weekly cases over the past 4 weeks. These increases have been attributed to increased contact within the community as Kentucky phases back into operation.
On June 25th, the agency reported having a total of 225 cases, an increase of 43 cases compared to the number reported in the daily press release on June 24th.
The spike in numbers is related to a small outbreak at a worksite in the county, in addition to several non-related clusters within the community. The statistics reported are for Christian County residents only.
Due to HIIPA policy, the worksite could not be named.
**Numbers reflected for the week of June 21st are numbers reported as of June 25th at 4:00 pm.
As the community transitions through the Kentucky Healthy at Work phases, the Christian County Health Department would ask community members to consider how quickly the virus can spread within a congregate setting. Without taking proper precautions and following guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus, there is a very good possibility that the community will continue to see various spikes in cases and possibly additional clusters across the county.
Please continue to practice healthy hygiene habits such as frequent hand washing, wear a mask in public places, try to keep a distance of 6 feet or more between you and others in the community, and visit one of our free testing sites to get tested for COVID-19.
