HOPKINSVILLE, Ky (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Christian County Health Department has confirmed a positive coronavirus (COVID-19) case on Thursday, March 19.

A 61-year-old female in Christian County has tested positive and is now self-isolated.

Governor Andy Beshear has previously given executive directive for businesses across the state to adopt social distancing measures in an effort to protect employees and citizens.

This includes closing schools, having restaurants switch to delivery and carry-out only, as well as barber shops, banks and other businesses limiting their hours and/or direct interaction with customers.

Kentucky has 40 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state and 639 reported tests administered. There has been one fatality attributed to the virus in the state.

Health officials are reminding all residents to use good judgment. Do not attend gatherings of 10 or more people, as recommended by the CDC, for the next eight-weeks. Wash your hands regularly with soap and water. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze.

Of course, if you’re sick, stay home.
