CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – ESPN Clarksville and Bojangles are announcing the Bojangles APSU Athlete of the Week and recognizing Austin Peay basketball star Chris Horton. Along with the Bojangles recognition, Horton has stacked up a long list of awards during his time with the Governors.
Horton has been honored with Austin Peay State University’s 2015-16 Outstanding Male Athlete as well as the Legends Award recipient as the most valuable male senior athlete. Horton enjoyed an almost unparalleled senior season, capped by an OVC tournament that saw him named most valuable player.
Over the season the Decatur, GA. Native joined one of the nation’s exclusive clubs, becoming only the 13th Division I player in history to score 1,500 points, snare 1,000 rebounds and block 300 shots. He was also just one of five Division I players in 2015-16 with 1,500 points and 1,000 rebounds for his career.
