CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Choppin’ Block announced this week they will be closing the longtime Clarksville butcher shop “after much reflection and with heavy hearts.”

David and Hayley Deason posted the announcement on the business’s Facebook page and said the decision has not come easily. “For many years, we’ve had the privilege of serving our community – getting to know you, sharing stories, and building relationships that have meant the world to us. Being entrusted with catering your weddings, showers, birthday parties, graduations, and so many numerous events has been our absolute honor,” said the post.

“Your support, kindness, and loyalty have carried us through the highs and the lows, and for that, we are deeply grateful. Running The Choppin’ Block has been more than just a job – it’s been a part of our family and a part of our lives.”

Located at 2212 Madison St., The Choppin Block was opened in December 2006 by Beverly Bridges. It was later purchased by the Deasons. Over the years it has been a mainstay caterer, regularly handling events such as the annual Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce Mayors’ Power Breakfast.

The Deasons said in their post that the final day of operation for the butcher shop will be Saturday, July 19. “Between now and then, we welcome you to stop by so we can say thank you in person. From our family to yours – thank you for being a part of this journey.”
