CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) There is a very special young lady in Clarksville, Chloe Sybert, who was recently named the Tennessee Miss Amazing Jr. Miss. The Miss Amazing pageant is a nationwide program and is an organization for young women with disabilities.
Sybert was diagnosed with Autism at age 14. She is now 20-years-old and attends Austin Peay State University where she will be entering her junior year. When asked about her Autism Sybert said, “it’s not a big deal, it’s just a part of who I am.”
Sybert talked about the pageant and being chosen as Miss Amazing. “It feels really good because it gives me a lot of confidence,” said Sybert.
Speaking publicly about Autism is something that she enjoys doing, having spoken for Autism Tennessee and she says she considers herself an advocate for Autism. She added she feels like everyone who has a disability should be treated fairly and not looked down upon.
Art, particularly painting, is something else that Sybert enjoys. She has a facebook page “colors of my spectrum” and she has sold some of her paintings. She paints pets and landscapes but said she really loves to paint people. I feel like art can spread kindness, creativity and positive vibes. I like to spread some cheer through art because that’s the way I know how to. “I like for my art to make people feel happy,” Sybert said.
Sybert will be heading to Chicago, Illinois August 4-9 to participate in the National Miss Amazing 2017 pageant. The Sybert family is looking for sponsors and support from the community with their fundraising efforts to help make the trip to Chicago.
