MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A woman pushing a 1-year-old child in a stroller on Dover Rd. near N. Liberty Church Rd. was struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon.

According to an incident report from Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), a 2010 Ford Focus driven by 33-year-old Brandi Roberts had stopped on the side of the road around 1:43 p.m. to offer the woman and the child a ride.

A second vehicle (2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse) driven by 18-year-old Robert Moore did not see that Roberts had stopped in the right lane, according to the report. Moore then swerved to the right to avoid hitting the vehicle and struck the pedestrians.

THP said this particular stretch of road does not have a shoulder or emergency lane.

The victims have been identified as 20-year-old Ashli Mancil and 1-year-old Jason Mancil.

Ashli Mancil was transported by EMS to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Jason Mancil was transported to Vanderbilt by LifeFlight. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
