CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A cheer coach who lives in Clarksville was arrested on July 13 in Franklin for multiple counts of rape and sexual battery.

James So, 27, who works at Premier Athletics in Franklin, was arrested July 13 following grand jury indictments on charges of aggravated rape, four counts of statutory rape, three counts of rape, and two counts of sexual battery, according to a news release from the Franklin Police Department.

All of the charges were against one victim, a 17-year-old girl, and the incidents occurred during a single encounter.

According to the news release, the incident took place inside Premier Athletics. An investigation was initiated after the incident was reported in March. Results from that investigation, including a review of evidence in the case, were presented to a Williamson County Grand Jury, who returned the charges.

Detectives do not currently think there are other victims but do want to hear from anyone with information that might be relevant. Franklin Police can be reached at 615-794-2513.
