Charles William McCuen, age 86, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016, at Tennova Healthcare.
Charles was born September 22, 1930, in Greenwood, SC, to the late Cullen McCuen and Irene McCuen. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Bessie McCuen.
Mr. McCuen retired from the US Army as a First Sergeant, having served tours in Korea and Vietnam during his tenure. He was a member of the First Church of God.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, October 4, at 11:00 AM, at First Church of God, with Pastor Scott Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, where full military honors will be rendered. Visitation will be Monday, October 3, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and Tuesday, October 4, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at First Church of God.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Grace Harless and her husband Larry, of Clarksville; brother, Roy McCuen and his wife Shirley, of Greenwood, SC; five grandchildren, Kimberly Smith, Ronald Rois, Jr., Richard Rois, Michelle DeArman, and Jamie Bragg; and four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God, 590 Magnolia Drive, Clarksville, TN 37042.
