CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Charles “Chas” Uffelman has launched his campaign for Clarksville City Council in Ward 6.
He said that as Clarksville grows, it has to grow smart and with opportunities for the people who already call it home. “Clarksville is growing like a weed, and we’re getting squeezed. Working folks don’t have the same opportunities they used to. We deserve better. We deserve a city we can afford that works for working people,” Uffelman said.
He is running on a platform aimed at lowering housing costs for working families, building a thriving and family-friendly downtown, and designing safer, more walkable neighborhoods with corner stores and local parks while easing traffic congestion.
Uffelman recently served as Chair of the Montgomery County Democratic Party and has held numerous professional roles with the Tennessee Democratic Party. Uffelman grew up on a farm in southern Montgomery County, graduated from the University of Memphis, is a member of Leadership Clarksville’s Class of 2026, attends Madison Street United Methodist Church, and lives downtown with his Australian Shepherd, Ozzie.
