Charles Thomas Winn, III, 75, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his four children.
Charlie was born on July 12, 1940, in Clarksville, TN to Charles Thomas Winn, Jr. and Carolyn Mayhew Jackson. In addition to his father, Charlie is preceded in death by his wife, Lyla Melton Winn and granddaughter, Cara Roman.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Dr. Larry Robertson and Brother James Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Sango Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 4, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Charlie graduated from Austin Peay State University with a degree in music education. After college, he became a band director in Virginia. He was an accomplished musician, who played the bass and the tuba. He was a loving father and “paw-paw”.
Charlie is survived by his son, Chad (Raeann) Winn of Clarksville, TN; three daughters, Cindi (David) Winn Shepherd, Teresa Winn (Gary) Ferguson, and Dawn Winn (Billy) Wall of Clarksville, TN; three brothers, Don (Lana Jo) Winn, Michael (Shirley) Winn, and Patrick (Veronica) Winn; and six grandchildren, Joshua Ferguson, Jacob Ferguson, Emma Winn, Jaden Wall, Hayden Winn, and Delyla Winn.
Pallbearers will be Gary Ferguson, David Shepherd, Billy Wall, Josh Ferguson, Jake Ferguson, and Hayden Winn.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
