Charles Mines, age 77, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord on April 22, 2022, at Tristar Skyline Hospital.

Charlie was a resident of Clarksville, TN for 26 years.  He was born on August 21, 1944, in Gap Mills, West Virginia.  States he has lived in also include Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida.  He was led to the Lord and “born again” in 1976 when his wife prayed with him.

He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Marie (nee Batten).  They were married for 55 years.  In addition to: son, Michael Charles Mines, and four grandsons, Corban Lucas Mines, Sean Michael Mines, Dylan Alexander Mines, and Braydan Elliott Mines.

He was currently employed as an insurance inspector.

He will be missed by so many.  He was noted as having “the gift of gab,” a wonderful sense of humor, and having a likeable personality.  He had never met a stranger.  He would have people laughing and talking with him after only having met them for a brief time.

Another trait he was “noted” for was that he loved to spoil his wife, son, and grandsons, which was greatly appreciated by them.

Charlie and his wife were involved in the music ministry since the 1970’s.  They helped pioneer music ministries in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida and here in Clarksville.  Charlie would play the guitar and sing, while Pat would play keyboards and sing.  They were worship leaders for Glenn Kennedy, who currently holds weekly home meetings.

Charlie loved cats.  At one time, he and his wife had 8 cats, mostly rescues.  His all-time favorite cat was named Boo Boo.  He was a car enthusiast, and among some of the classic cars he owned was a ’57 Chevy and a ’96 Impala.  He enjoyed classic country music, such as the songs of Hank Williams and Johnny Cash.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, April 29, 11:00 a.m., in the fellowship hall of Spring Creek Baptist Church, 2760 Trenton Road, Clarksville, TN, and will be followed by a fellowship lunch.  Glenn Kennedy and Pastor Will Binkley will be officiating.  While flowers are welcome, in lieu of that a donation in honor of Charlie can be made to your favorite charity.
