Charles Edward Overcash, Sr., age 86, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at Tennessee State Veterans Home.
Charles was born July 1, 1932, in Savannah, GA, to the late Miles Overcash and Margaret Braswell Overcash. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Emma Jean Overcash.
Charles was a retired US Army veteran and worked in the civil service. He was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, December 26, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Bro. James Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26 from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Charles is survived by his wife, Ruby Chrystine Overcash; son, Charles Edward (Bonnie) Overcash, Jr.; daughter, Deborah (David) Johnson; brother, Pete (Jeannette) Overcash; four grandchildren, Harrison Tyler Overcash, Charles David Johnson, Phillip Alan (Kristy) Johnson, and Joseph Wayne (Penny) Johnson; five great grandchildren, Dan Johnson, Teri Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Emma Johnson, and Nathan Brown; and three great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Johnson, C. David Johnson, Phillip Johnson, Dan Johnson, Tyler Overcash,and Nathan Brown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, 50 Century Boulevard, Nashville, TN 37214.
