Charles David Morgan Sr., 74, of Cunningham departed this life and entered the arms of his Savior on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
David was born August 14, 1950, to Cecil Morgan Sr. and Martha Bullock Morgan in Clarksville, TN. After his mother’s death, his father married Mary Shanklin Morgan, and she became his second mother.
David graduated from Clarksville High School where he excelled at football. He attended Austin Peay University State University. David began working for his father’s construction company as a young teen. He later became president and co-owner of Morgan Inc. Contractors. He was a mentor and father figure to many of his employees.
David served his community as a YBA basketball coach, church officer and three-time president of Central Civitan. He was a member of Salem Community Church. For many years he was a director of the Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation Board of Directors.
David loved walking his dogs on his farm and sharing Morgan family history. What he loved most of all was playing with his grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Wade Morgan.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Morgan, and his sons David (Kathy) Morgan Jr. and Samuel (Jessica) Morgan and three grandchildren Ashley Morgan, Briley Morgan and Colten Morgan.
He is also survived by his five siblings, Cecil (Mary Beth) Morgan Jr., Cheryl (Ted) Barton, Margaret (Leo) Adames, Gene (Kathy) Morgan and Don (Sarah) Morgan and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Salem Community Church (2269 Seven Mile Ferry Road, Clarksville, TN). Officiating will be Pastor Bobby Herndon, Pastor Anthony Lyle and Pastor David Mackens. The family will have a private burial. Visitation will be Friday, November 22, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Salem Community Church and Saturday November 23, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the hour of service at Salem Community Church.
Serving as pallbearers are Bryan Coulter, Dale Lyle, Will Lyle, Lance Morgan, Seth Morrison, Mike Perry, Garrett Wallace and Mark Wallace.
Arrangements are entrusted to Neal Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home.
