Clarksville, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- The Clarksville Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony official welcoming Julu Hairspa to the community.
Julu Hair Spa, located at 151 Hatcher Lane, Suite A, is owned by Juliea, a licensed hair designer who has approximately 30 years of experience.
Along with her business partner and long-time best friend, Amy Kilgore, Julu Hairspa is the product of a vision the two had 24-years ago in Juliea’s laundry-room based salon.
Juliea and Kilgore’s husbands were stationed in Virginia when they met. The then neighbors had many conversations about owning a business together. The original pink salon station is positioned in the lobby of Julu Hairspa to remind the team of their dream.
Juliea is a veteran who served eight years in the U.S. Army, receiving numerous awards, including the Schutzenschnur. She is an award-winning cosmetologist and cosmetologist instructor and is certified in aesthetics, color, cutting, razor skills, skincare, and massage therapy. She also specializes in hair loss and gives free consultation.
“This is so exciting,” Kilgore said. “We believe your image should say you are living. We want to help you get to the image that shows who you are.”
The Julu team offers a variety of services including natural hairstyling, braiding, dreadlocks and more by Christen Harris and facials and waxing by Emily Cassarino, a licensed aesthetician, who is certified in classic lashes, dermaplaning and microneedling.
“We offer everything and use natural products for a diverse clientele,” Kilgore said. “We are very concerned not only about the look of hair, but the health of hair.”
Additionally, Juliea is founder of the Foster Care 2 Fabulous, non-profit 501(c ) organization. Juliea went through the foster care system as a child and is working with local law enforcement and government officials to incorporate special bags for children taken into foster care to put their belongings. The organization plans to do projects to support children in foster care.
