CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Sherry Stewart Deutschmann to present “The Power of No” on August 25 as part of the organization’s Women in Business luncheon series.
Ms. Deutschmann will share her story about how saying “no” at the right times has enabled her to grow her business from a startup in her basement to a $36 million company.
Ms. Deutschmann will share her perspective on the ‘glass ceiling’ and assert that female executives and women in business say ‘yes’ to too many things, creating a lack of focus, damaging customer satisfaction and creating a shortage of resources when a good opportunity presents itself.
“Women in Business is an important component of the Chamber’s programming that is designed to deliver opportunities for professional growth and networking to our membership and the public,” said Melinda Shepard, Executive Director of the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce. “We’re particularly excited to present this topic that speaks directly to so many members of the business community – both male and female – who tend to over commit at work and in their personal lives.”
Attendees will learn why, when and how saying no can be good for you, your family, your career and community.
The Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce provides frequent opportunities for the business community to engage with other professionals through programs including Women In Business, Business After Hours and Business Before Hours.
The event will be held at the Clarksville Country Club on August 25 at 11:30 a.m. Please RSVP by Friday, August 14 to Branon Jaggers at
