CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Around 250 business and community leaders enjoyed the evening at the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its 112th Annual Dinner and Gala Tuesday to celebrate the achievements of the previous year, recognize the outgoing Board of Directors and Chairman and welcome new ones.

Highlights of the event include naming Katie Gambill winner of the Ted Crozier Community Commitment Award.

“My career brought me to Clarksville ten years ago, but the people and the community spirit here has made it my home,” Gambill, President and General Manager of 5 Star Media Group said. “Our team at 5 Star demonstrates community commitment every day, so to me this is very much a team award.” 5 Star Media operates seven local radio stations and Clarksvillenow.com.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a Chamber member that has shown dedication to the Chamber and the community. The honor went to Pastor Jimmy Terry, who unfortunately could not be at the Gala. His son Jimmy Terry Jr. accepted the award for him and called his father while on stage to have him talk to the crowd through the phone held up to the microphone.

Chamber Ambassadors are goodwill representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and the Ambassador of the Year Award was presented to Dee Ann Colburn. The Young Clarksville Professional of the Year Award, with Clarksville Young Professionals (CYP) went to Stacey Streetman and the Boots to Suits Award honors a leader in the business community who has served in the military and was presented to John Clement.

At the end of the evening it was then time for the traditional passing of the gavel from the outgoing Chairman of the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce, Sydney Johnson, to the new Chairman, Charlie Koon.

The Chamber’s Executive Committee Members, Board of Directors and Ambassadors were also recognized Tuesday evening.
