What is your profession? Hospital Executive Leadership.

Where did you go to school and what did you study? Western Kentucky University where I received a masters in Healthcare Administration.

Why did you choose your current profession? I’ve always enjoyed serving others and healthcare just drew me in.

Where are you from originally? I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio.

How long have you been in Clarksville and what brought you here? I started with Gateway in June of 2013, so 19 months now. I saw that the medical center played a critical role in the overall life of Clarksville. I liked the organization and the community and wanted to be a part of the upward momentum.

Tell us about your family. Julie and I have been married for 20 years and we have three great kids; Clay, 15; Elizabeth, 12; and Austin, 10.

What do you like most about Clarksville? Clarksville is full of friendly people and opportunity.

If you could have any other profession what would it be? I spent most of my younger years on the football field and played QB for Western. So, I’d have to say… College head football coach!

What is your favorite meal? Anything with seafood.

What is the easiest and most difficult part of your job every day? Easiest part is working with such a great group of healthcare professionals. Hardest part is time management and balance.

What’s your favorite movie or TV show? Grumpy Old Men.

Who is your role model? I couldn’t point to just one, but several pro football players like Peyton Manning. I also admire Abe Lincoln. He and I share the same birthday.

What has been the toughest challenge you’ve had to overcome in your life? Being married to a woman who is so much smarter than I am! A challenge, and a great blessing.

How would you like your life to look 10 years from now? I would like to know that I have made a difference in helping others, and have had the pleasure of seeing my family grow.

When and to where was your last vacation? During fall break we went to Orlando, Disney World and Universal Studios.

What is your favorite pastime or hobby? First is spending whatever the occasion is with my family. Second is being on the golf course.

What advice can you give others juggling a family and career? Give everything 110 percent, but don’t sacrifice family.

What is something most Clarksvillians wouldn’t know about you? My first job out of college was Regional Manager at Taco Bell in Nashville.

If you could leave one message to the Clarksville community what would it be? I want the community to know Gateway Medical Center’s commitment to be “The Hospital of Choice” for our region. Our entire team is working hard day in and day out, showing our dedication to serve patients in need.
