Charles E. (Buck) Clawson, Sr. age 91 passed away Saturday November 21, 2015 at his residence.
He was born April 23, 1924 in Montgomery County, the son of the late Herman Edgar Clawson and Ruth Drake Clawson.
He served in the US army during WW II and was a paratrooper. He went overseas, serving in France, and attained the rank of Tec 5. He was self-employed for many years with B & C Garage as a mechanic as well as operating a radiator repair shop. He later worked several years at State Industries in Ashland City until his retirement. He is a member of the Caanan Baptist Church as well as the VFW.
Buck is survived by 4 sons, Charles Edwin Clawson Jr. & wife Vicki of Clarksville; Ricky Eugene Clawson & wife Kathy of Clarksville; Richard Duwayne Clawson of Clarksville; and William Adrian Clawson & wife Judy of Redbud, IL. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Penny Donahoo of Palmyra; and Sue Stoever of Palmyra. He is also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Buck is preceded in death by his first wife Lula Beatrice Seiber Clawson, his second wife Jannie Josephine Harrison Clawson, a grandson Tyler Evan Clawson, 2 sisters Sadie Berry and Lyda Laitinen.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday November 25, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Gateway Funeral Home with Brother George Adair officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 P.M. and on Wednesday from 11 A.M. until the time of services.
