CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Mark Marsh, Chief Executive Officer of Tennova Healthcare – Clarksville, has resigned, effective April 29.

Marsh joined the hospital in 2013. He leaves Clarksville to accept the CEO position at a hospital in Orlando, Florida.

“This team of employees, volunteers and physicians is very special and it has been an honor to work with them,” said Marsh. “Their dedication to quality, safety and service make a difference in patient’s lives each day.”

Since joining the hospital in 2013, Marsh has focused on strengthening the hospital and its delivery of safe, quality patient care for the community. The hospital has made significant safety advances across multiple metrics by placing great emphasis on continuous quality improvement, successfully restarting its open heart program, implementing a joint replacement program with high patient satisfaction, and recruiting 16 new high quality physicians including general surgery, gynecology, gastroenterology, cardiovascular surgery, interventional cardiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and primary care. Marsh also led the hospital’s successful CON application for a free standing ED in Montgomery County.

“Clearly, Mark has made a difference at Tennova Healthcare – Clarksville and its service to our Clarksville community,” said Bill Wyatt, Chairman, Board of Directors. “He has helped us restore clinical services and strengthen the programs we offer, positioning us for long-term success. While we are disappointed to lose him, we offer Mark our best wishes in the future.”

The hospital has been recognized for excellence by national accrediting agencies for chest pain, bariatric surgery, mammography, diabetes and more. It recently completed its most successful reaccreditation survey by The Joint Commission, the leading accrediting agency of hospitals, earning the Gold Seal of Approval.

The search for a new chief executive officer is underway. Board members, medical staff and administration will participate in the search to identify the right candidate to move the hospital forward.
