CLARKSVILLE, TN – Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation (CEMC) celebrated the grand opening of its new Clarksville Annex on Aug. 22, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and luncheon attended by employees, community leaders and local officials.

“This new office space represents an investment in our people and in the future of the communities we serve,” said CEMC General Manager Chris Davis. “The growth of Cumberland Connect has created new opportunities for our members and employees, and this facility gives us the tools to continue delivering exceptional service and innovation.”

Located at 1820 Ashland City Road, the annex was designed by Lyle Cook and Martin Architects and built by Providence Builders to support the cooperative’s rapid growth, fueled by Cumberland Connect, which provides high-speed internet to thousands of CEMC members. The facility houses about 40 employees, with room to expand, and features a new warehouse to strengthen operations.

A highlight of the building is its state-of-the-art meeting room, officially named the Charles David Morgan, Sr. Community Center in honor of the long-time board member known for his decades of leadership and dedication to community service.

During the program, three CEMC lineworkers were also recognized for their recent 17-day volunteer trip to Guatemala, where they joined a Tennessee cooperative crew in bringing electricity to two remote villages for the first time, reflecting the cooperative spirit at the heart of CEMC.

The event concluded with tours of the workspace, warehouse, and community center, marking another milestone in CEMC’s 87-year history of serving northern middle Tennessee with reliable electricity and now, broadband.
