Celia Beauchamp Ambrester, age 81, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015, at her residence.

Celia was born August 19, 1934, in Savannah, GA, to the late Cecil Beauchamp and Hazel White Beauchamp. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Ambrester; and two brothers, Charles and Cecil Beauchamp.

Mrs. Ambrester was a retired educator in the Knoxville area and a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, October 18, at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Pastor Greg Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, October 17, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, and Sunday, October 18, from 1:00 PM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.

Celia is survived by her daughter, Kim (Larry) McMillan of Clarksville; son, Marcus Ambrester III of Nashville; and four grandchildren, Mary Katharine McMillan and Ryan McMillan, both of Clarksville, and Tristan Ambrester and Jordan Ambrester, both of Nashville.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 5341 Estate Office Park Drive, Suite 2, Memphis, TN 38119.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Mary Birdwell, Lillian Cheatham, Barbara Street (Larry McMillan’s sister), and AseraCare Hospice for their exceptional care of Celia, in her time of need.
