CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Today is National Doughnut Day and several national chains, including Dunkin’ Donuts and Krispy Kreme, are marking the occasion with freebies.

According to their Facebook pages Clarksville Krispy Kreme is offering one free donut, while Dunkin’ Donuts requires the purchase of a drink.
Donut Day was started 80 years ago by the Salvation Army to honor woman who served donuts to soldiers in World War I.
