CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – CDE Lightband would like to warn customers of a potential scam that may affect their computer and other devices.

CDE Lightband has received reports from local customers indicating that they had received a “pop up” on both the laptop and desk top.

The “pop up” stated it was from CDE Lightband and it was very important that the users contact CDE immediately regarding spyware. A toll free number was listed as 888-252-5733. The customer contacted the number but was cautious. The person on the phone was requesting information that would allow remote access into customer’s computer in order to “diagnosis problems, for example, spyware or malware.

CDE Lightband does not run any diagnostics or virus related scans on any customer’s equipment such as their computer or wireless router. If you receive this message please contact CDE Lightband technical support at 931-553-7300 to notify us. Please do not contact any number or follow any instructions listed on the message.
