CLARKSVILLE, TN − From October 6-12, CDE Lightband, along with over 2,000 other community-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities, is proud to celebrate Public Power Week! As your local, community-focused power company, we serve YOU, not private investors. We are dedicated to supporting the local economy by attracting and retaining quality careers for our community. Powered by TVA, we carefully manage our resources to invest in the people, technology, and equipment necessary to maintain high reliability while keeping rates as low as possible. During natural disasters or severe weather, CDE Lightband works around the clock to ensure your homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure have the reliable power you need.
To celebrate Public Power Week, CDE Lightband will host two key community events:
Meet Your Energy Pros
Date: October 8 − 10AM – 12PM
Location: CDE Lightband, 2021 Wilma Rudolph Blvd.
Stop by and meet our Energy Pros who will be available to answer questions about energy efficiency and provide tips on how to reduce your energy bill. As part of CDE Lightband’s Power Partner program, our Energy Pros are available to help customers make informed decisions about their electric power usage. Be sure to ask how you can receive an exclusive energy savings kit!

Stuff the Bucket: Operation Stand Down Tennessee
Date: October 10 − 9 AM – 3 PM
Location: CDE Lightband, 2021 Wilma Rudolph Blvd.
Giving back to the community is a key focus of CDE Lightband, and on October 10, we’re hosting a “Stuff the Bucket” event to benefit Operation Stand Down Tennessee (OSDTN). OSDTN is the only comprehensive veteran-serving agency in Middle Tennessee, connecting veterans and their families with essential resources, careers, and community services.
A bucket truck will be staged in our parking lot to receive donations for OSDTN. The agency supports veterans, especially those facing homelessness, by providing meaningful employment, crisis assistance and more. This drive gives us the opportunity to work side by side with the community to donate essential items for veterans in need.
Items Needed:
- Bus passes
- Bottled water
- Kroger/Walmart gift cards
- New sleeping bags and blankets
- Hand warmers
- Non-perishable snacks such as chips, granola bars, sandwich crackers, individual bags of peanuts, fruit cups, beef sticks and more
By supporting this initiative, CDE Lightband and the community are helping OSDTN empower veterans and ensure their success. For more information about Public Power Week events or to get involved, visit our website at http://www.cdelightband.com.
